It seems like the video streaming giant YouTube has finally realized the importance of social interaction and has moved further from the comments section by adding an integrated chat feature inside the app. The user can now easily send videos, share them with customers as well as chat with – all of this in a private window. The chat section is now integrated into the application so it’s easier for users to discuss newer videos that arise on YouTube every day.

According to The Verge, this feature will be directly integrated into the application’s share button where users can send the video to a contact. The video will not be moving to the SMS application, but will be dealt with through a chat feature built directly in the application. The feature was allegedly available in some countries such as Canada and now available to the whole world. This makes Youtube the first of its kind by being an application that features video content entirely with a chat option.
Some analysts suggest that Youtube is now focusing on diversifying features to stay 10 steps ahead over competition like Vimeo and Hulu. Some great additions by YouTube currently are YouTube RED and even a premium channel based YouTube TV that is currently only available in selected cities. With video content being on top of the game, who knows, maybe this YouTube’s in-app innovations turn out to be the next change that is needed and might even help it become the next big thing.
