Q.1: Share your reviews on Online Project Management?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: If you mean that online project management is running projects via technology, then I think there will be a cooperation of technology and the value-add of the human. The human element will add the value-add while the technology will do the mundane and routine project management.
Q.2: Is online project management through App the future due to the emerging uses of smartphones in corporate culture?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: I think it will be an evolution. However, I would expect that most in project management will end up with a smartphone and reviewing the project’s status. So, yes, eventually I see Smartphones being a part of project management. However, more so I see Artificial Intelligence, such as Google, Alexa or Siri being a part of project management.
Q.3: How applications programs will improve employee productivity?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: It will allow the employee to do value-added work versus mundane work.
Q.4: Whether old age group people can adjust themselves in an environment where project management is done through App?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: There is nothing to say that the older generation cannot adapt. They may need extra training but the older generation is resilient. I am 62. It takes me several attempts to learn a new app but I normally can unless I have no interest in the app.
Q.5: Do you think that Mobile App brings team members closer?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: It depends what you mean by “closer”. In a personal relationship or face-to-face, I would say no. But the longer generation prefers that and the younger generation will be pushing using apps and software, so for the younger generation will say yes it will bring them closer.
Q.6: Will Mobile Apps for project management disturb the personal life of Employee?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: I don’t think any more than working from home does today.
Q.7: List Down the top 10 Apps that you would like to recommend for Online Project Management?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: That has many variables. Many times corporations drive apps that are allowed. But apps that I have seen that helped me recently were Trello, WhatsApp, texting (yes, that is old school but it works) and several others that I don’t remember off the top of my head. You need to decide what makes sense for your team and the security and privacy needed.
Q.8: How project management app is more useful for effective project management?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: That can’t be really answered without answered without understanding the types of projects and what you expect from your projects.
Q.9: List down three advantage and three disadvantages of Project Management Apps?
Dr. Wanda Curlee: Advantages – Instantaneous communication; easy manner to manage documents; with the correct app you have one version of the truth
Disadvantage – Apps can provide a different aspect of the project and humans have to correlate data, the app is not secure or private, no sense of belonging to the team.
